“Lia Marie Johnson hits the stage at Pop Explosion LA”

Actress Lia Marie Johnson continues to make audiences laugh with her unique style of comedy in Awesomeness TV productions (like Terry the Tomboy) and in the new interactive movie Finding Cody with Cody Simpson. Her growing fanbase has watched her go from a girl who once made YouTube videos in her bedroom, to become a rising Internet star who has appeared on the Emmy award-winning web series Kids React, Teens React and MyMusic by the Fine Brothers.
With a global following and online fan clubs in several countries, she is about to share one of her other passions with fans – singing. On November 3, Lia will hit the stage, joining 12 other recording artists at the Pop Explosion LA event at Avalon Hollywood.
StayFamous.Net recently caught up with the YouTube star to talk about her upcoming concert presented by Popchips.
Michael Aaron Gallagher: “How excited are you about performing at the Pop Explosion LA event?”
Lia Marie Johnson: “Oh my gosh, I am really, really excited to be performing at Pop Explosion! Just to be one of the only solo people, surrounded by all these boy bands and pop groups – it’s pretty great.”
Michael Aaron Gallagher: “Have you performed in front of a big audience before?”
Lia Marie Johnson: “I have. I’ve performed in front of a lot of people. I’ve performed at the House of Blues twice, so that’s always fun to perform there. It’s always a good crowd, everyone’s so sweet there.”
Michael Aaron Gallagher: “Are you nervous at all about the concert?”
Lia Marie Johnson: “I am! I’m actually really nervous. I’m also excited. It’s not like nervous, nervous – it’s like excited, nervous. Because if I was nervous, I would be so scared to go up there. But I’m really excited to see everyone and see all the other performances.”
Michael Aaron Gallagher: “How are you preparing for the concert?”
Lia Marie Johnson: “I have been practicing for weeks now, ever since I found out. I’ve been picking my songs, practicing my guitar and everything. I just love to sing. So whenever I’m not busy, I’ll just pick up my guitar and practice for it.”
Michael Aaron Gallagher: “Are you going to be performing your own songs or covers?”
Lia Marie Johnson: “They’re both going to be covers, so I’m really excited about that. Covers are always fun because everyone knows the song, so everyone can sing along… It’s fun to do other people’s songs that are on the radio, because everyone can dance to it.”
Michael Aaron Gallagher: “Are you friends with any of the other performers or have you met any of them?”
Lia Marie Johnson: “Yeah I have. I’ve met IM5. I see them a lot. They’re amazing performers. And Brandon and Savannah, I just met them the other day.”
