Longboarding, building computers and watching movies with friends are some of Tristan Pasterick‘s favorite things to do when he’s not on the set of his new live-action, sketch comedy series Incredible Crew, which premieres in January on the Cartoon Network. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Seattle, Washington, the 15-year-old actor was “discovered” in an unexpected way.

“I was going to an autograph signing for Fall Out Boy‘s bassist Pete Wentz and I was approached by talent scouts,” Pasterick explained in a recent interview with StayFamous.Net. “They thought that me and my buddy were kind of charismatic, so they told us to come to their acting school.”

Although his friend eventually lost interest, Tristan went on to attend a convention in Las Vegas where he signed with an agent. With family already living in California, he was able to move south to pursue a career in Hollywood.

“It’s only been in the last couple of years that I started to book things,” Pasterick said. “I just booked Incredible Crew recently and things are all starting to turn around… Everything’s going great right now.”

Produced by Nick Cannon (America’s Got Talent), Incredible Crew also stars Shauna Case, Shameik Moore, Chanelle Peloso, Brandon Soo Hoo and Jeremy Shada.

“The show’s actually a sketch comedy,” Pasterick said. “So we don’t really just play one character, we play a different character every few minutes, which is really cool. It’s kinda like watching a bunch of YouTube videos, stringed together into a 30-minute block of TV.”

Although most people think of Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel when they think of teen comedy shows, the Cartoon Network is starting to branch out and offer more live-action programming with the addition of Incredible Crew to its line-up.

“You know I think it’s a really good idea, on Cartoon Network‘s part,” Pasterick said. “They already have another very successful live-action show called Level Up, it’s about video games and it’s sci-fi… it’s something that I think could turn into something very, very big.”

And with his new show about to take off, Tristan says working in television is the most fun he’s ever had.

“I think the thing I like most about doing comedy is just other people laughing,” Pasterick said. “It really is validation when people laugh at your jokes – that you’re actually funny and that you can entertain people. And it’s just a really good feeling when you can make other people laugh.”
