Ashley Tisdale rose to fame as one of the Disney Channel‘s most popular stars. In her role as Maddie on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2005-2008), she proved she could play the down-to-earth, girl next door with ease and in a slight role reversal, she starred as the less likable character Sharpay on the wildly successful High School Musical trilogy (2006-2008).
Discovered by a talent manager at 3 years old in a shopping mall, Tisdale has since built her own entertainment empire as an actress, producer, recording artist and philanthropist. Now at age 27, Ashley is slowly shaking off the good-girl persona her fans have grown to love and embracing more mature roles on both television and film.
In a recent interview with StayFamous.Net, Ashley took some time while on the set of Scary Movie 5 to chat about her guest-starring role as Emma Jean on the hit FX original series Sons of Anarchy.
Michael Aaron Gallagher: “Your role on Sons of Anarchy involved some action scenes. Did you enjoy playing a more physical role and is that something you’d like to do more of in the future?”
Ashley Tisdale: “Yes, it was definitely so much fun. I did a bit of stunt action scenes in a movie I did a long time ago, but it was nothing compared to this. It was actually my first time ever being on a motorcycle, and Charlie Hunnam was the first person to give me a ride, and I thought that was amazing, because I am a big fan of his and I had the best time.

I don’t get star struck because I feel like I’ve met Angelina Jolie, I’ve met tons of people, and for some reason, because I watch the show religiously, I just was so star struck. Every single time I’d be sitting in hair and makeup, and somebody else would come into the room… For the 2nd episode, because everybody in the show was there, I was shaking I was so nervous. But it was the coolest thing ever. I’d love to do more action stuff in the future.”
Michael Aaron Gallagher: “What was the most memorable part of working on Sons of Anarchy?”
Ashley Tisdale: “Every single moment I was there, I was just so excited to just be with a cast that they are extremely talented, extremely grounded, and so nice. I just learned so much from being around them with Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, and Charlie Hunnam. They are also really a tight-knit group, which is so great just to see that they actually are like the boys. All the guys, I think they had gone camping that weekend, and I just thought that was so cool. I had the best time on the show. It was such a great experience.”
Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX. To learn more about Ashley Tisdale, visit her official website www.ashleytisdale.com.
